    Erm, what does this mean?

Today I started Starting Strength after my first session of HIIT yesterday, and I managed pathetic weights, but it's just a start, and I is baaaare confused now.

    I managed to (3 x 5 repetitions) bench a 10kg bar + 5kg weights on either side, squat 15kg and deadlift 15kg.

    :o:

So does that mean I benched 15kg?

How many of the people saying about how low or high his/her starting weights are have read articles about beginner training where it says how the beginner shouldn't be intimidated by other people's weights in the gym or how they may percieve the beginner's weights - for everyone starts somewhere.

Do not judge his lifts. Thats not what trainings about.

Hahaha, I guess it's because I wasn't told what the weight of the bar for the deadlift and the squats were, so I haven't included that in either of the two?

Stupid advice. If you don't know what you can bench then you start from just the bar upwards. You would honestly say that to a slightly chubby bloke who'd never set foot in a gym before?

Just out of curiousity, what do you weigh?

Ben.Shallot, you asked how much you had benched. 20kg, quite obviously.

If you can spell, you should be able to bench more than that.

I weigh just under 10 stone which is around 63 kilograms. I managed to lift 52kg when bench pressing when i went to the gym with friends, I am 16. But i am quite athletic and i go boxing twice a week, but i do no wieghts.
