My friend got the same score as me (24) but isn't sure about her essay. She's got an offer from Durham of AAA I believe.

It's this year's average. They usually fluctuate around 15/16 though.
16.7 is the same as last year's average.

    No problem.

I got 6A* 4A at GCSE. Predicted AAAAaa this year.

I think with Durham the essay is much more important than the multiple choice score, so don't worry about that. They said themselves that it's a more reliable indicator of how well you can write than the personal statement (which gets tweaked a lot). And with the multiple choice, you can just be unlucky. So if you thought you wrote a decent essay you should be in with a chance. Good luck!
Well, lucky me in that case (or not). The multiple choice section turned out much better than my essay, didn't even complete it. Guess that's way I haven't heard from them yet......

I got 16/30, which didn't surprise me because I found it a bit tricky! The essay went a lot better though.

My score hasn't sunk in either yet really.
Really, oh I guess that makes it seem better then.
Are you surprised by your score?! If i'm honest, I am, I knew it hadn't gone that brilliantly, but I thought I was on track for at least 16/17 kind of average... :/
Hopefully the essay will have been a bit better, but I'm not even sure how much bearing that will have anyhow.
Good luck for your other applications, and don't give up hope just yet, you never know.
Thankfully we both have other offers to rely, but it's the knowledge of settling for second best thank kind of disheartens me, and I'm frustrated with myself because I know I can do better.
Nevermind though, what's done is done! xxx
I know i would have been happy with a 16 even, anything else above would have been a bonus, i knew my essay was abit ..ergh but i honestly thought i had muddled through the MCQ with a decent score. I'm not crushed to be honest just as yet, using three cases i can think of from this thread:

    Nottingham- accepted someone with 13
UCL- rejected someone with 19 (specifically for their LNAT score)
    KCL- accepted someone with 15

its all relative really, hopefully the essay wasn't completely crap, i feel the same about that second best thing to, but at least now i have my score its made me appreciate my existing offers more. All hope is not lost but i don't think my chances are very high, realistically speaking, ijust don't want to have to wait till March to get a rejection.

what you said is true man. And I do really hope that Nottingham will still give me an offer even though my LNAT was pretty low . As for Warwick and Exeter, I wonder what takes them so long to make a decision:confused:

    I scored a 24 out of 30.
    Pretty psyched about my score.
check it, I applied to UCL, KCL and Nottingham with IGCSEs of 6 A*s and 3 As.
    AS levels of 2 As
    Predicted A/AS levels: A* A* A / A
Got stellar recos and an ok PS with some references to anthropology.

Can't wait for the offers to start rolling in
I would actually laugh if you got rejected.

^ don't act so arrogant. No matter how good you think you are, there will always be someone better than you.

I think you boys are mistaking optimism for arrogance.
My confidence of an offer may seem cocky, but it is to no other end than to make the wait for offers a little more fun and a little less irritating.
When optimism is expressed it helps (at least for me) make it a little stronger.
    Ease up fellas.

I'm led to believe two things from this thread:
    A) the national average is not in fact 16.7, it is actually 25 mininum
    B) A high percentage of you are in fact lying

    Or
The intellect present in TSR is disproportionate to the outside world. That is, if the LNAT actually tests it.

Myself? A nice comfortable 17, which got me my conditional from Notts <3
Oh? The essay? Spectacular, "when, is it ever possible, to justify breaking the law?" (something like that)
I did an entire module on that in AS Philosophy Opening sentence was "The law is meant to be an objectification of the morality of the current social climate..." Big words!

I'm such a hypocrite xD Tossing off in public (that is bragging) to retaliate to others tossing off on the internet!
