    Anon or delete. Thanks!

To begin, it's not that I dont have a good life. My family have been good to me and life has been good to me to a certain extent.

If its any relevance, Currently doing my A2 levels- all the sciences, having achieved A's so far.

Anyway, there is this constant lingering feeling of isolation that I experience everyday. In the underprivileged state school that I attend, I feel that no one shares my views (e.g. philosophy & politics are devoid there). Its ridiculous, it's as if I am in a place where intellect is frowned upon, and the only way to have fun is to act like an idiot and get drunk.

And then there is a steady stream of girls are constantly saying that Im attractive etc. and they wish to go out with me...

Bless them. They are nice people, but I can't hold an interesting converstaion with them because of our differences & frankly alot of the things they do/ say put me off, and I know that we won't work out, so I just shy away from their affection.

It is my hope to get into a good university, where I can be with other intellects that share my views.

I guess this thread is nothing more than an aimless rant... I guess I'm just wondering does anyone feel the same? I'm pretty sure there will be As TSR members are above the average IQ IMO, and threads which actually hold interests are made.

i feel as if you see yourself as above the people around you?
this is not good, and is probably the reason for your feeling of isolation.
take a look at yourself and take a look at the people around you and don't automatically sneer because they're not as clever as you.
