    Doesn't seem possible tbh, 2 methyl groups on a carbon atom and then CHO indicates an aldehyde? If that were a single -O- bond it still wouldn't work.

    Yeah that molecule in the original title is a peroxide haha. In general, O-O single bonds are very weak so if you get an organic structure with one of these, it's probably wrong (for A level chemistry at least). The actual structure is this: Name:  ester.gif

    I'm afraid that's not right. The molecule isn't a carboxylic acid but an ester. Have a look at my earlier post or (more clearly) wizz_kid's post for the correct structure .
