Kavos! (Corfu)

i remember ages ago a few people said they were going to kavos for their hols, anyway i just got back and had a brilliant time!!! anyone else back yet, what did u think?!?

I haven't been but I'd like too! You were looking so lonely here on this thread so I thought I'd come and join ya! :biggrin:

I've a couple of mates who have gone to Corfu and had a fab time, I'm glad you had a good holiday, hope you got a tan!

The words 'empty' and 'Kavos' just can't go together. I was there for the first week of July (not the busiest part of the season) and it was the complete opposite of empty.

It's fab fun for a week, as long as you go with realistic expectations. It's not a pretty place. The beach is a bit crap. You're not going to meet the love of your life.

But, for anyone thinking of going... if you're up for a week of partying until 6am, sleeping until lunch, lazing by the pool and then getting ready to go out again - with a few school discos and excursions thrown in - then it's a great time.

Just remember to take paracetamol and some cough medicine - there's a lot of cross-contamination if you know what I mean hehe.

A few tips:

- Don't book excursions/nights out with the reps - it's half the price with the locals and you don't need to pay 10 euros for a bar crawl when you can just tag along unnoticed!

- You shouldn't pay more than 2 euro/drink. The PRs telling you that 5 euros is a good price are lying. Walk further down the strip.

- At 3ish, go to either Future or Venue (clubs). Don't bother with Limelight unless Sandstorm's on. Then, at 5ish, go to Atlantis (outdoor club near Future which leads onto the beach - a rare example of class in Kavos)

- Go to The Roussos restaurant - it's beautiful

- Say hi to barman Brad in the first bar on the right as you walk down the strip!

Faliraki is the worst place I've been to.....ever. Thankfully I was only there for an evening...

yeah seriously kavos is not empty!! yeah i agree the beach is crap but we went on a boat trip to this other beach and a lagoon and it was sooo pretty!! we did that and the water parktrips wiv the reps but all the night bar crawls and stuff were a makjor rip off, u pay 20 euros to go on a bar crawl - which u can do ureself 4 free! and on pr guy said 2 us 2 go in wiv him 2 get cheap drinks (1euro/2euros) as at the mo a bar crawl were in who were paying 5euros!!! but anyway we went for 2 weeeks and it was amazing!! i agree wiv lauren18's advice! and i would say the bes bars are prob empire, rolling stone, tango, buzz, snobs......
and yeah go to roussos its got a really nice view and the man was talking 2 us sayin no1 goes there anymore and they mite hav 2 shut dwn cos all th young peop just want pot noodes! ooh and aso go to the roof top restaurant and the tex mex and chinese/indian and pennys! (i love food incase u didnt notice!)
