From AQA unit 4, June 06.

The bob of a simple pendulum, of mass 1.2x10^-2 kg swings with an amplitude of 51mm. It takes 45.6s to complete 25 oscillations. Calculate

    a) the length of the pendulum

    b) the magnitude of the restoring force that acts on the bob when at it's maximum displacement.

    I've got 0.860m for a, and 6.96x10^-3 N for b.

    Am I right?

The Length seems to be correct did you use L = g/(f^2 x 4 x pi^2) or another method ?

yeah I rearranged T=2pi.sqrt(l/g) to get the length.

For b, I've tried it again and got a different answer of 0.0291 N
