As a Scot, i must say that most English accents get on my tits. Cockney and Geordie are the worst offenders, with only Scouse and Ultra-Posho getting pass marks. South african and Northern Irish are awesome though.

Yay, I have a Northern Ireland accent.. everyone else hates it!!

Why "must" you say that, because you are a Scot?

Agree with Birmingham although I have a really good friend who is from Birmingham and it doesn't really bother me, but he is kind of posh.

Also call centre work means I have heard pretty much every accent shouting at me and in hysterics and I must say Scouse and Welsh are THE WORST for that... to my ears

Really strong Sheffield accents annoy me.

I hate it when you see someone on the news from Sheffield,
and the news reader speaks really nicely and then you get the Sheffielder and they sound like a retarded farmer.

    :sigh:

Accents are a really big thing for me, but I don't think I wouldn't be attracted to them just because they had an Essex/West Country accent, even though I hate them. Yorkshire/Scouse/Scottish accents would make me much more attracted to someone though.

I didn't mean it like that. The 'must' is a bit superfluous really. Just conveying that I have an accent myself.

Oh dear, I hate being asked to say 'how now brown cow' hahaha, its embarrassing!
But northern Irish accents vary too, they probs had very broad accents if you couldn't understand them :o:
