I would prefer person going to mass every weeks than this close to fanatic religiousness.
I would too. I revel in the classic Latin mass or a lovely choir but to hear of people getting possessed on a baptist floor puts us all to shame. Religion is a strange shot that must be taken in moderation.

edit: I'm bothered by two-dimensional religious harpies as much as I'm bothered by those loud obtrusive atheists though. It's equivalent to telling someone else how they should cook their meals assuming their way is the best way

Hahah its not just youth ya know, many "happy clappy" churches with all ages. its awesome.
it's nice you're happy, but will you please accept that you ARE religious?

religion is the belief in a supernatural being. which you appear to have. thus you're religious :p:

also, have you read the bible?

I know a person who put "thinks God is awesome!" as her Facebook status. Happily I don't speak to her anymore.

isn't that a little rude, and unaccepting of other peoples beliefs and faith stances?

I must admit, I'm impressed that you religious folks don't seem phased by our dismissal of your faith. I guess indoctrination works after all.

The only reason you think you have a relationship with Jesus is because you happened to be born in a majority christian country. I don't doubt your views and beliefs would be incredibly different if you were born in India or Saudi Arabia. Which sort of throws into question whether you are just in need of an imaginary friend.

    it isn't fanatical though...

I guess its like imagine you found £100 in the street you'd wanna tell people you'd found that kinda money... and then were told you could keep it... I'd think thats pretty amazing...

Its more 'this is new and I still can't really belive it but I love it'

I like how you equate the Almighty, that of which none greater can be conceived, the Immortal Divine and so on with a few quid you found in the road.

Why is it that everyone except fundamentalists can shut up and keep their beliefs personal? Do you think the rest of us aren't proud or content with our beliefs? Do you think you're the first person to discover religion?

Please stop insulting our collective intelligence.

but I wasn't. I was equating the feeling... I was trying to put it into terms that someone who hadn't experienced it would understand.

I never said my explaination was any good!
