ok i don't know what to do. 2 of my closest mates at uni are going abroad next year so basically today agreed with another group of friends 2 live with them, house is sorted, we're signing the contract 2morrow. but i think im just saying yes coz there's no one else. i mean they're all nice enough but they don't like socializing with new people, at allll. and i find that really irratating when we go out how closed they are to other people when i just wanna go and talk to everyone. 1 girl especially, she's 'nice' but its already irratating me how clingy to me she is & 'unhyper' and that's before we're living together. if i pull out it would have to be 2morro morning & then i have no one else to live with and i'd have to live with randomers..

don't know what to do, feel like im saying yes coz there's noone else & EVERYONE else is signing contracts. i guess it would be comfortable to live with this group but there's none of them i REALLY really bounce off & find inspiring. im really really open minded and theyre not at all. my gut wants to say no. but am i stupid to lose a 'comfortable' choice for the risk of randomers?

ahhh man i have like a few hours before we sign the contracts so sorry for erraticness of message! will any good advice! ahh in such a panic!!

Do you have friend outside of the 4 friends you mentioned in the house? If you do, live while those two and get closer to your other friends whilst meeting new people with them. I'm not terribly close to my housemates for similar reasons; but it's fine as I have other friends outside the house so I go out with my own house sometimes but not always. If you get annoyed by the constant small group of these two girls just go out with them less. Saying that, living with randomers have always worked out well for people I know, you go for a few drinks and get to know people before you sign a contract so it's not as random as when you're dumped with a load of people randomly in halls in first year. Most students are generally ok. I'd still live with your two friends.

Live with them. No matter who you live with, you'll end up being minorly pissed off with them at some point, so just because one of the girls is annoying you a bit right now it's no reason to veto living with her completely. And just because you live with people doesn't mean you have to socialise exclusively with them - if you're a sociable person just go out and talk to other people.

Go with the flow and sign the contract. Your life will be made so much easier.

I think the time to pull out is long passed. Do you want to **** them over ? Because that's what you do if you pull out on the day of the lease signature...

ahh im so confused, this is making me cry i only have hours left to pull out! scared im gonna regret it if i go through with it. theres 5 of them, none that i really wanna get to know or hang out with. dunno why im posting on here...maybe looking for resassurance that randomers may not be so bad...might be better if i get on with 1 of randomer, find the rest annoying as opposed 2 this group of meh/but v. blandish people who are comfortable 2 live with but /none of whom i particularly gel wth/find at aalll interesting. oh im so so stuck

sorry to sound harsh but ditto to that.

Pulling out now would mean that they will probably loose the house aswell..... (unless they know someone else who can jump in your place.)

You should have really thought about this a while ago, not the night before.

Chances are if you pull out now, your friends wont be best pleased.... they may not want to speak to you for a while, then what will you have.... a house full of randomers that you have no garentee you'll get on with????

surley you dont need to socialise with just the people you live with. Like others have said, if your as social as you say you can make friends outside of your house and go out with them instead.

Look at it this way. It's a house not a social club. Sleep there, work there and eat there and do your socialising elsewhere. Now go and sign the damn contract.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm meant to sign a contract today, I'm torn between sharing with my flat mates who I really like ( the house only has one bathroom but has a telly) and sharing with others ( the house is bigger with 4 bathrooms and is cheaper!!!!). Would be easier if my flat mates would see the other house but they are really set on this other house we've seen. I just hate rushing things but I don't want to pull out and ruin things for them.
