    Hello all..
I'm an Intenational student from Indonesia, maybe most of you don't know my country.
I'm going 17 this year and I'm in 11th grade now.
I wanna take a university in UK, but i wanna take IB first. But I don't have GCSE/IGCSE certificate because the education system in my school is different from the UK.
I read on some forums that if we want to take IB, we should do the GCSE first. So can i take IB without GCSE ? I'm so confuse.
    Thank you.

No, you are 17. Don't bother with GCSEs. If you have taken other external examinations then they substitute for GCSEs. Even if you haven't you can use your school reports as a replacement.

    Agreed. GCSE not essential.

Dont worry about it at all. The only qualification that I have is my IB Diploma and I've already got three offers to study law in the UK. Just get top marks on your diploma and you'll be fine.

Careful there! In the same way that you don't need GCSEs if you have A levels already. It is true that they are non-essential, but they are also additional evidence for unis to look at so are useful to have. Naturally I'm sure you know this, just pointing it out for anyone who happens to be reading along!
