my other freinds are not sure what they want to do as a job so do you think that another year would be helpful to decide?

How are we supposed to know whether or not the school has made a good decision? Your school knows your capabilities much better than we do. If you have any reservations, speak to a teacher.

Are you on about choosing GCSE's now or doing them?
To the person who said it'll take stressoff, i did my welsh 2nd language gcse in yr9 butinstead ofdoingnothing in welsh for the next 2 yrs they made us do the As which ended up heaping more pressure on us in GCSE yr.

Lots of people don't even know what they want to do at a job at A Level. You don't have to decide at year 9.

i think it's a good idea, you'll get more qualifications
i didn't know what i wanted to do until 6 months into college
some of my friends who are at university still don't know what they want to do as a job
gcse's don't affect your college choices, so do it or you'll regret it in 3 years time!

GCSEs don't affect your application at all. In CVs most people put "10 A-Cs including Maths and English" as apposed to listing them all. Hell, I'm doing A levels and don't know what I wanna do! So don't worry about that.

As for doing it a year early, if you're capable, go for it. Don't see the point myself.

Sure, as long as it isn't English.
