I'd say it would vary, as cooked pasta soaks up water so it will weigh more but the water has no fat.

For good recipes, do a search, Loads have already been posted!

Roast Romiro Peppers, Pine Nuts, Red Peppers, Chillis, Aubergene and Red Onions on a baking tray on high heat with a good helping of olive oil and a splash of Balsamic Vinegar.

Cut veg into "rustic chunks" and mix with cooked pasta; make sure you get the oil out of the roasting tray, as it acts of the sauce.

Yum.

Can be good can be bad.....whilst low in fat it's very high in carbs.

Have brown pasta if pos... you'll stay fuller for longer and it's slightly healthier - better carbs.

Still any pasta is better than fries n pies.

ie 90g dry = 1.7g fat....if the same amount is cooked is it the same fat? or is it 1.7g for 90g cooked as well...

pasta increases in weight when cooked, so the fat per weight decreases

pasta is all pretty high GI, even "wholewheat" pasta and ****. Rice would be a better option, or just totally eat oats, hardcore
There's nothing wrong with eating pasta whilst following a weight loss plan, only eat it in moderation though...it does tend to 'sit' in the stomach for quite a while and is high in carbs. As someone already mentioned, eat wholeweat pasta if at all possible.

'Brown' pasta is better.

Is eating too much pasta bad for you? I eat it about 5-6 times a week. I don't really eat bread or rice though, and only a little bit of potatoes, but my Mum's always yelling at me for eating pasta too much.

I bought some "brown" pasta the other week and i compared the nutrition tables to white pasta and it was the same if not a little higher in all things :-s

I live off pasta - Im a whizz in the kitchen and pasta sauces, fresh daily!
However, it can be bad for you, as it is high carb, and alot of the jars of sauce have sugar and crap in them basically, make fresh if you can, including the pasta, that way you know exactly whats in it.
I have too much time on my hands . . .

I don't have any sauce on my pasta, I just have it plain, but I'm always getting yelled at. Surely eating it all the time is only as bad as alternating it with potatoes and rice though? :s:

Is it a good food if you are on a weightloss plan/diet?
also, is the fat for cooked pasta and dry pasta the same? ie 90g dry = 1.7g fat....if the same amount is cooked is it the same fat? or is it 1.7g for 90g cooked as well...
ideas?
any good veggy pasta recipies?
xx

Depends what plan you're aiming for...
It's low fat, but you need to watch calories. No, cooked pasta weighs mroe because it has more water..

Whether pasta is good for you or not depends on certain things. I think its like everything: if you have it in moderation, then it certainly wont do you any harm!

If you're on a weight loss plan, then just dont have too much pasta, and stick to no sauce/low fat pasta sauce! Also, fresh pasta is a lot better for you than the stuff from ready meals...

you can eat anything (even on a diet) if you eat it with moderation.

the best way to loose weight is to eat less and exercise more. so just eat less pasta, but don't remove it from your diet then you will only want to have it and eat more than you should.
