I wanna ask this girl for her number, but don't wanna give the impression of being a creep. How can I get it without seeming desperate?

Have you spoken to her? If you haven't then might wanna try that first just coming out with "can I have your number?" Isn't likely to work out well.
This. I wouldn't give my number to someone I haven't spoken to before.

Arrange a day you wish to met up in town to socialise, ask her for her number in case you get delayed.

Talk to her. Build rapport. Flirt. Wait for her to ask/tell her you're going to go ___ on __ and it would be great if you could join me. When you get it, ring it so she gets your number at the same time.

" you know what- we are so rock climbing/ ice skating/ bowling/activity x next time we meet. you seem fun. give me your number and i'll call you if im free"
Pretty informal, and you sound not too desperate and engaged in other activities.

this after engaged in flirty, light hearted, funny and spontaneous conversation.
