I feel stupid posting this thread as most people when they think of anorexic people think of stupidly skinny people and I'm not.

I do think I have a serious problem though, I go all day without eating anything and just sip on water which I ALWAYS carry around with me, I almost like the feeling of being hungry and at lunchtime when everyone else is eating I get a sense of superiority because they NEED the food whilst I can go without.

All I eat in a day is 210 calories, maximum 354 calories. I know the calorie content of EVERYTHING so I know I am being accurate. On top of this I walk to and from uni and burn about 250 calories each way and I go to the gym and burn 500 calories.

Although I am not as skinny as I would like to be yet, I'm already starting to admie the affects my 'diet' is having on my body, all ready I feel great and look it and have much more body confidence.

I know this isn't healthy but I would rather be liek this than be fat...sad but true...

what should I do???? No one knowes about this as I am very secretive

You are like the cactus of the plant kingdom. But yeah you have an eating disorder, go see your gp although you won't because you think you are fine. Being slim is better than being fat but dying from anorexia isn't.

How silly of those people who need food; for recognising it is what the body needs to live and that with a healthy varied moderate diet you can be on the healthy side of thin.

You have a problem because you think you can cope with what you're doing when its obviously not the right way of going about things - but you're not going to listen to a stranger on the internet because I bet you won't be willing to see a GP about this either.

the dsm diagnostic criteria for anorexia requires people to be under weight. as you say your not then technically no you are not anorexic, the same goes for getting your period. If you still get it then you dont meet the requirements. if you really do only eat that much then you cant have been doing this for long another indication your not anorexic. you might have EDNOS, look it up. you know something is wrong now then go and get help before it becomes a serious problem.
btw i highly doubt you burn 250 calories each way walking to uni unless you walk for miles and miles and miles.

Well. You could go help. Check your BMI. You clearly have some type of eating disorder, or are just overly paranoid about how you're seen. I miss lunch every day if no-one wants to go with me out of pure laziness, but I'm not anorexic and I don't even drink water every day. If you feel superor you probably need therapy for your ego rather than an eating disorder?

Aim to eat 2000 calories minimum. Count if need be. Also tell someone so they can keep an eye on you just in case you get worse.

    I know how you feel
And it's not as easy as: start eating 2000 cals a day like the recommended...and by the way DON'T...not just yet because if you go from around 300 to 2000 you will hurt yourself!

For me, I increased my calorie intake a bit more each week but increased exercise so that net calorie intake was the same! I know that may seem pointless but it helped alot, because before that, there was no way of getting me to eat

After a few months I kept increasing calorie intake and had a fixed exercise plan =D After 3 years...I can eat very well and I am a healthy weight and I am fine! i think I was just going through a rough time in my life!

And btw...as everyone has established, yes it does seem like u have anorexia!

Good luck, get well soon! x

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that, but glad that you are realising what you are doing. I've been through it, and getting out of the cycle is tough. If you have a good friend you could confide in you should do that. If you can, try stopping the calorie count, eat things where you don't know the amount of calories, and just tell yourself it has very few. It means you can eat more of it!!

If you want to talk, you can PM me..
