I’m using my CGP revision and AQA study book but I’m struggling to grasp statistics and significance (0.05 values, Chi-squared etc). And to be honest my teacher is struggling to teach the class anything, so If anyone can help, thanks

0.05 means that you can be 95% confident that the results you achieved were not reached by chance.

    For example

Mednick et al found that children with biological criminal parents were significantly more aggressive than those with foster parents that were criminals.

If they did a statistical test and found the significance level was 0.05. There would be a 5% chance that the results occurred by chance or another factor or than biology.

You understand that? Look up Chi-squared on the net. It is a statistical technique used to disprove a null hypothesis.
