Yep it is! Often at the lights I have a swig of Diet Coke or whatever and if I get fined then there will be hell to pay!

I KNEW someone would post this on TSR, like the Tescos story. Yes it's ridiculous and I would definitely not pay the fine, I'd walk off laughing 'wtf'. Don't know what they were thinking. They must have been bored. Sometimes you get the feeling the police have a quota of wrong-doers to fill.

Blowing one's nose can lead to a loss of concentration for even a second, therefore, making an accident far more likelier than one who is not blowing one's nose.

Bit stupid really, waste of money taking it to court, I doubt a judge would even let it pass.

Perrr-lease, he was sitting in traffic with his handbrake on; what could have possibly happened?

Ha-ha.

I would take that to the local papers and then take it to court where it would probably get laughed out of court. It would be like revenge against our Masonic rulers.

I don't believe him. The whole story is based on the word of the businessman. I'd be very surprised if there wasn't some other genuine reason, as the penalty was for failing to be in control of his car. Most likely he did something like wobble across the road, nearly crash into the person in front or jump a light.
