The form.. its horrendous? Well, no it's straight forward until you get the eligibility part of it that asks you "have you applied for student finance bfore (this includes grants tuition fees and bursaries)" etc.. so obviously as a returning student yes I have

THEN it asks you when you got help and how long for and off who (local LEA) etc..

So i rang up SLC and asked what I was meant ot put cos ther wasnt an option to say you recieved "Fees, Loan AND grant" just single options so had to add all three seperately.

I dont remember that aspect of the form last time .. really don't

ANYWAY I just put the periods of support given as 09/2008 (september 2008) to 09/2009 (september 2009) as my first year of support

I tried to add this years support and couldn't as you're not allowed to put any date after january 2010.. as theyre still supporting us..

    MUCHOS CONFUSING

anyway just posting this to see if anybody has the same problem (confusion) and how they overcame it..
obviously doesnt really apply to those 0ver 25 even though you're students, your applicatino is a tad different xxxx

It sounds like you are filling in a PN1 (Paper New)

The form you need is a PR1 (Paper Returning) unless you are a top-up student (e.g. completed two years of an HND or FD and now doing a 'new' course to top-up to a degree) in which case the PN1 would be right for you.

Or are you talking about the online application system?
