    what do people think of this - this is surely a major embarrassment for this university and I think it is a great shame that they have contributed now to a discrediting of proper science on the issue and given weight to the anti-climate change argument without proper grounding.

    If you actually read the news reports, with the FACTS. The CRU did not fabricate or indeed, hide data. Some emails were compromised and taken out of context to meet the needs of some conspiracy nutjobs.

    this will only damage UEA's reputation in the media, not the scientific world.

    And so all three investigations commissioned into CRU's 'climategate' scandal which attempted to be so publicly damaging by the media have proven UEA researchers were rigorous and honest.
    Shame the media did do a week of headlines on the news about how they got it wrong.

    So basically the climate scientists did nothing wrong
