    Outward Journey: 12/02/2010
departs COVENTRY at 10:45 travel by Train service provider LONDON MIDLAND to station NUNEATON arrives 11:04
    No seats reserved
departs NUNEATON at 11:23 travel by Train service provider CROSSCOUNTRY to station LEICESTER arrives 11:48

    Return Journey: 12/02/2010

I've booked ANYTIME day return tickets, but I want to travel on an earlier train. Will that be allowed? Or is the anytime day return only applicable to the return journey?
Also, must it be the same route? Because there are some trains which take different routes.

It's an Anytime ticket. So you can move to different train times yes.

The ticket will likely be an Any Permitted Route ticket, and provided you're
not going London to get to Leicester you can jump on any train.
