    i wanted to do biomedical at uni..but at the moment i didnt get the predicated grades i wanted to apply for it. so i ended up not applying to uni this year...i was wondering is it possible to apply to biomedical through clearing in auguest if i make the grades the uni wants for biomedical (queen mary) even though i havnt made a personal statmnet or applyed.

    Im not sure but i dont think you can, i think clearing is only for people who have applied and not been accepted by any of their offers, or rejected all their choices, but I could be wrong...

    if you havent applied you could look at the courses in clearing and then phone up the universities personally and explainyour situation and see if they will give you a place that way.

    In order to be eligible for clearing, you still need to fill in the forms with a personal statement and all your details etc. Although the deadline for this year has passed, you can still make applications. The difference is that you will no longer necessarily be considered equally. If you want to apply, then you can apply now and probably get offers at much better universities and with much greater choice (+ a lot less stressful!). However, it is probably worth contacting the universities you're interested in before making an application to see if they are willing to consider you as a late applicant.

    At this stage it might be better to wait until Extra, and then contact unis that are showing they still have spaces left. They don't have to consider late applicants but probably will as they want to give out more offers.
