3. That last step is fine, just multiplying both sides by 2. Collect the two terms on the LHS to get:

to solve the equation (or alternatively just divide through by 3 and solve).

5. Change the base to 10, then use your calculator.

log2(x) = [log10(x)/log10(2)] etc.....hope this helps.
