If your Uni course is only 30 weeks of the year, but there are holidays spread out throughout the whole year, then do you only pay for 30 weeks rent?

Also, is AAA equal to AABB?

You only don't pay for the summer holidays.

And no. Ask your prospective university whether they'd be happy with that.

You usually have to pay or around 46 weeks weeks rent but it depends on the accomodation. Other accomadation can be for less or more time. If you only pay for 30 weeks rent then usually you will have to take your things home in the holidays so they can rent out the room during that time.

AAA is not equal to AABB but contact the uni to see if they would consider you.

Depends on the uni - normally it'll be from the star of Freshers to the end of the summer exam period, so for Stirling it's from the middle of September to the start of June - normally 38 weeks you pay rent for.

Depends on where you're living - at Edinburgh the self catered flats are let from freshers week to the first week in June inclusive meaning you get it in the holidays whereas in Pollock Halls you have to move out over easter. You should be able to find the information on the universities accommodation websites.

However, once you get into private accommodation after 1st year then your lease is (in Edinburgh) for the entire 12 month period. It is very very rare to find somewhere where you don't have to pay for the flat in the summer months, for example, but most students stay in Edinburgh and work anyway or just sublet their room/flat
