And what does it mean, to you? What would you say are examples of undignified activity?

Personally I would say being a porn actor, or being a position where your self-respect and personal sovereignty were compromised.

Being a prostitute, porn star, politician, or football player means most times you are in the public eye, and your every move is preyed upon.

Also those categories of people are mostly idiots of various forms.

I suppose I'm from the school of thought whereby, if you haven't got your dignity, you haven't got much.

    Of course.
To me it means means being able to have some pride in yourself. You can't have pride if you have no dignity.

I agree with the pornstar suggestion, also.

Whilst I don't work directly in telesales, I have had to do a fair amount of phone work in my job and I have to agree here. You have to have something about you to be able to withstand dialling out to people who you know are just going to shout back at you, misunderstand you, hang up on you or just be a general tit to you.

As for dignity, I felt a lost a fair amount when I slept on the streets once.

Of course, but part of being a real man(or woman :p: ) is knowing when to put your dignity aside. In a way this gives you more dignity in the long run, and people will respect you for it.

I treat it as an amusing joke-style by line to my real life, like it's an incredibly mundane dream.
Why did you slee on the street?
