"I have a question to ask you...." watch

Ok so someone said this to me today, and it sorta made me worry. The context it came up in made me think that it can only be one of two options, the first which I can outright deny, but the seconds a bit more difficult. I think they might ask me if I fancy this guy who we both know, and I do, but the thing is I see him a lot and things would get awkward between us if we both knew and nothing happened, or even if it did. Even so, I'm not sure how to play it just in case he is actually interested, how would I reply if this is the question I'm gonna be asked, cs I don't wanna blow any chance but don't wanna embarrass myself either. Ergh I sound like such a kid, but this is stressing me out, help? :o:

Tell the truth and say you fancy this bloke.

I'll be better in the long run even if it is a bit awkward to start off with. Hell, you might find he likes you too!

Yeh like the other guy said.... tell him

I've never told anyone i've liked that I do so.... but usually everyone finds out coz I make it obvious that I like someone

And then nothing happens because the other person doesn't like me at all... I'm just too good I reckon
