Hi, in 2000 i did 2yrs of a course, then transfered to do psych at the same uni, so in total ive done 5yrs at uni. I've got a place to do childrens nursing in sept, normally students get a bursary and a reduced student loan, will i get one having already done 5 yrs, as i will not be able to do this course if i cant, as im giving up work to do this?

Unless the rules have changed this year I am 99% sure that you are still entitled to an NHS bursary, help from the NHS with your fees and a reduced rate maintenance loan from SFE

Although most students who already hold an honours degree cannot get funding for a second course there are some exceptions.

Medicine, Dentistry, social work, teacher training and some NHS funded courses (and it sounds like childrens nursing is one of them) are the exceptions that I can think of.

Oh, and if you haven't got an honours degree then you will definitely still get the maintenance loan from SFE.

Form another 'normal' degree yes that would be a problem

For an NHS funded course, no it shouldn't be a problem
