Clearly MsLite is so good she does not travel with the commoners on buses (even though I can sure you half the people you see on buses are doctors and lawers etc).

Not only this she seems too good for A levels.

Most students do AS then go onto A2 in the second year.

What is the difference between the three? sorry to sound a bit dense but I've always seen grammar and independent used interchangably when referring to my school in particular.

Grammars and independents are both normally selective, but independent schools charge fees and grammar schools are state-funded.

Stick with public schools. They work.

I know this will provoke reaction...but an independent...by far the BEST
True. But I just can't warm to the people that go there.

I was just referring exclusively to MsMites classism. Read nothing into my comments.

I'd have to agree with that.

Personaly I don't like snobby people but it depends. Just because some body is from a rich background it dosn't mean they are snobs. I am godo friends with many people both from better and worse backgrounds than me. I think it depends on the person more than anything else.

I some times resent one of my working class mates constantly having a dig about how rich my family is etc when its simply not true though at all. (my dad drives a £1200 N reg escort for example, my mums always having to borrow money of me etc).

I went to a public school, but i'm now at a state college completely out of my own choice (my twin is still at the public school). I honestly think that public schools are good if you go to a good one, although some are utter crap. in the end if there's good teachers, it's a good school. some public schools are relatively poor and so a 'well-off' state school is probably better.

oh yeah and some grammers are far more selective than public schools.

Your school is an independant. True grammars are state-funded. Though your school calls itself a grammar, it isn't a true one ie. not state funded.

Don't the independant ones have an exam to make sure they are taking the best kids who are applying, but if they're short they accept anybody who's offering to pay the money to get in?

How do we define whether a school is reasonably good? I suppose mine isn't really that crappy...
