I find the best way is to do it yourself, without doing it through an organisation. When our cohort did our electives, everyone found their placements independently and were able to do exactly what they wanted... it just seemed easier than going with a pre-existing company... i dunno have you thought about researching it yourself?

I have, a lot of people are staying in the UK, or going to a different area of the country- some adult nurses are doing like a MH one, or neonatal etc. I've thought about maybe doing a childrens nursing placement in great ormond street. If i went independantly abroad though, who'd I contact etc?

Well the way I went about it was google! I spent hours and hours on google.... I drafted up an e-mail explaining who I was and what I was looking for, and contacted loads of hospitals. And a lot of people I e-mailed were really helpful and passed my contact details onto people they knew etc etc, word of mouth was pretty handy!

I contacted whoever... some websites don't provide that many great contact details... so sometimes I just e-mailed admin, or asked that they forward my email to the relevant person, or point me in the right direction... I just worded my e-mail depending on the contact details I could find. It was tricky but I did find a really good placement that way!
