    Hey guys,

I am thinking about applying for a masters in International Relations and Security studies after I graduate this summer. I want to apply to Kings UCL and SOAS but friend reckons they will not accept me and that I should be looking at less competitive universities such as Reading, Kent.. because I got a 2;2 in my second year. However, I am confident that I will get a 2:1 in my final year , that I can write a good personal statement and I can show that I could fund it . Do you think I should bother applying to such unis or was my friend right?? Cheers xxx

    You have nothing to lose.
If you could obtain some 'glowing' references to aid your application as well as a detailed personal statement emphasising your ambition/drive then you stand a chance. What are the entry requirements for the course at Kings, UCL and SOAS?

I think the requirements are simply a good honours degree ( i.e. 2;1 or first) but I suppose they take into account my second year mark ( 2:2) as I won't have my final mark till june/july.

I know applications tu UCL are free, I don't know about the other though. I think you should give it a shot, you might get in!
However, bare in mind that the offer they will make you will most probably be a 2.1!
    good luck!
