You cannot. You have to get a mod to do it for you

Report a post in the thread and ask for the thread to be deleted

It should really be up to the OP to delete their threads.......

You can delete and edit your own posts, I don't think other users should be allowed to delete other peoples posts though.

    well obviously...

You can alternatively post in the Ask a Moderator forum and ask for a thread to be deleted. Whichever way is quickest. Usually the reporting method is quicker, because I find there's an unusually large number of minimods (purple) online compared to supermods (light blue/cyan) at any one time of the day. The only time I've found more supermods are online compared to minimods is between about 7am and 11am on a weekday. You can check by going to this page. Because a lot of the moderators hide their online status, it won't help you much I'm afraid, unless you become a subscriber so you can see when all of them are online.

Supermods can only answer AAM threads. Supermods and minimods can answer post reports.

Subscribers can also lock their own threads. Although this really serves no purpose, as I've never really wanted to lock my own thread - I've only ever wanted to keep it open or delete it entirely.

If somebody has already quoted the post you wish to edit/delete then the initial quote will always be seen in the thread.
