    Lincoln, Nottingham Trent and DMU are popular with people in my college because they are so close-by and only want low entry grades.

    Durham was a big one, and york, and portsmouth. Alot of people applied to UCL and oxbridge but no one got into the latter, and I dont think anyone's going to the first.

    Oh and hertfordshire because it's close.

    At my school what kind of happened with people who were applying was that some of them bothered to research where they wanted to go and then a lot of the others just copied off them, come to think of it!

    Edit: Same about the PE course :p:
    Yeah that happened at our school with Nottingham Trent, although tbf it is relatively near to us so I can see why it would've appealed to those who didn't bother to do much research.

    With Loughborough most people in our school are either wanting to do a sporty course at uni or something business-y so that's why so many applied there.

    Why would ANYONE apply to Lincoln? {Horribly boring childhood holiday memories are making me hateful, sorry}

    Anyway, the London unis (Queen Mary, UCL, KCL, LSE, Greenwich, Brunel, South Bank etc.) Um, away from London there are a lot of Sussex, Leicester, Warwick, Essex and Exeter applications I think. Like, 1 person every year might try their chances at Cambridge or Oxford. :P
    TBF Lincoln isn't that bad as a place or a uni (if the grades you're expecting to achieve are that sort of level) but for me it's just FAR too near for my liking! :p:

    Just a random wondering, does everyone's school seem to have 'favourite' unis that people want to go to?
    Why do you think this is or isn't?

    At my school a lot of people this year want to go to Lincoln or Northumbria, mainly because of their locations and the grades they require.

    Anyone else noticed any trends at their school?

    Bradford. Most of the year with applications for multiple courses. Then Leeds/Huddersfield/Sheffield. Local I guess. Only one person in de history of my school has ever applied to Oxbridge (Cambridge, to be a little more specific) and was rejected. :laugh:
