I think Bristol has been quite common and about 15% of the year applied to Oxbridge.

what kind of school do you go to?! :lolwut:
oxbridge only get about 3 applications per place on average, compared to the usual average of about 8! (this stats are from a couple of years ago, but i doubt the figures have changed that much)
Presumably a highly academic one, probably private (I'd guess one of Winchester, Eton or St Paul's).

I'm not sure what you mean about the application figures — what's your point? (And I mean this in the nicest possible way.)

I and most people I know applied to Nottingham Trent. Lots of people went to Nottingham, Sheffield, Hallam, Leeds, Leeds Met, Manchester, Loughborough and Birmingham due to their locality.

I went to Lincoln because I wanted to be slightly further away.

Well my school appears to have a fetish for Royal Holloway for some reason. Also Southampton. Possibly LSE and UCL also.

    Manchester University.

Unfortunately I realised this too late. One of my four choices went to waste as a result.

    Ah well.

I don't know, my college is like 3000 people in upper and lower 6th, so difficult to tell. Of my friendship group, an inordinately large amount of people want to go to Kings (UoL), me included.

Most people are going to one of the local NI unis. A few to Liverpool, Glasgow, maybe Leeds. Only one person applied to Oxford, and they didn't get in. But my school's pretty good, they just don't really encourage people to shoot for top unis if a local one will do. I wish they did, sometimes.

how do people know where's the most popular?! Out of my friends, there's a fair few people applied to nottingham and sheffield, but the most popular that i can tell is durham, where 6 of us applied (who altogether make up 2/3 of our french group :o: ) No idea for the rest of the year though

For my school, it seems to be UEA

A lot of people I know have applied there, including me (twice) and all of them (save one) have got an offer as well

so much pressure on us to do amazingly well-it's crazy crazy days

Erm, when I was in school most people just left and got jobs. The 'popular' uni choices were local ones. My school was rubbish :yep:.
