Haha yeah, it's usually quite obvious when people do that.

It makes me feel kind of sad when people have friends just because they look right. What an epic waste of time.

Never heard of it, never done it. That's pretty horrible and vain.

What I hate most about that is the illegal factor. It violates the Data Protection Act (or some other act I confuse these ??). All visible people on the photo should be aware of usage of the photographs and should authorise them before being uploaded. I wonder if anyone has actually thought of this. People are really unaware of how the violation of privacy propagates over the internet until they find themselves in a meme, part of some demotivational poster, on some image board or worst of all in some weirdo's folder tagged "cute faces to....................
Sounds like a load of crap. People's appearence becomes public domain when they go out in public. There's no reasonable expectation of privacy, no privacy to violate, and no violation.

i know a girl who always has best friends who aren't as "prettypretty" as herself, i just put it down to the fact that she prob just has low self esteem and needs to compare herself to someone who wears less makeup etc to feel good ..sad really isn't it!
i guess most people just chose a nice pic of themselves (to set as their fb display pic say) without really thinking about what other people look like maybe?

although, people who upload un-photogenic pics of other people are just ..harsh! let alone setting it as their display pic! if i had a photo where one of my friends looked particularly bad in it - i wouldn't upload it to fb in the first place
