Thats quite a vague theory, but it makes sense in a roundabout way. Also, if you're not sleeping you need to eat anyway to keep yourself alive/awake otherwise you'd just ... die?

Well, yeah I guess you're body will need energy if you're not sleeping, and so you'll eat more.

i think it depends on who you are. i can't eat when i'm tired, if i haven't been eating for a while the feeling of hunger pass and i don't feel that i have to replace it with something like water or sleep.

it's kinda your body not knowing what you need,so easiest option is food:confused: well might be

or water, you can survive longer without food than water
Some people do eat excessively when they're down, so its almost like a replacement for happiness, is that what you're trying to say?

When I gave up smoking I binged on junk food. I've spoken to a few other ex smokers who went through this. Its like trying to compensate the withdrawal symptoms with something comforting.

You are using eating as a kind of comfort blanket to help you forget about whatever it is that is bothering you. This can be insomnia, relationships, illness etc.
Binge eating when feeling down or deprived is not uncommon at all, it is not a theory! That's why they call it 'comfort food'. Most people go through this at some stage.
It isn't healthy, but don't think you are a freak just because of it! As long as it doesn't get out of hand and start to affect your health, it isnt really much of an issue. Most girls I know always have an 'emergency' tub of Ben&Jerrys for those moments

I eat foods usually when I think my body needs it. Unexplained large amounts of food intake. Especially when im doing vigorous exercises, i tend to think to get more protein to build up my muscle. Otherwise when you dont get sleep especially at night it is normal for you body to crave for food (as what i think), you do get hungry faster when ure awake all night than when ure sleeping.
Certainly. Due to a lack of sleep, I have been eating loads more than usual. :frown:
