    Am confused at the best way to proceed....want to become primary teacher in shortest time (Teaching Assistant now but have NVQ level 4 in Early Years).

    Do I take an open degree with the OU then PGCE primary
    OR

    BA Primary Education

    This is urgent so any help please is great!!

    What difference? If you definitely want to be a teacher take the BA, likely to be faster and will be a lot easier to learn.

    theres a certain type of degree you can do that takes like a year or so (not a PGCE) but only people who have been working with children for more than 3 years can take. i can't remember what its called though...

    you could do a level 5 qualification in a year doing something education related and then the level 6 (equivalent to final year of degree) in the primary with qts top up. I know that bishop grosseteste university in lincoln do the top up year but i am not sure where you live! That would take 2 years in total
