FP1 Rectangular Hyperbola watch

1. The normal to the rectangular hyoerbola xy=4, at the general point P (2t,2/t) t=/=0,

The normal to the hyperbola at the point A (-4,-1) meets the hyperbola again at point B. find the co-ordinates of B

????
2. From the points t = -2, sub it into the equation for the normal. Then sub in into the hyperbola and a nice quadratic will drop out, (x+4) neing one factor and the other factor your x coordinate.

why t=-2? where did you get that from?

From a general position on a rectangular hyperbola (2t, 2/t), and your given the pont (-4,-1) => t = -2
