I dont know if this is going to sound surprising or not...
but iv always thought that i wouldnt really want to be in a relationship with a medic, not becasue of what they study, but becasue of time.... this would go for anyone with a very busy career based lifestyle.

This is becasue, what i want out of a relationship, is someone who is always there for me, and someone to spend alot of time with, without worrying too much about how little time we spend.

This might sound quite stupid, becasue i know that theyre just people with an amount if work, and ive not been out with anyone who could be very busy, so im wondering what a relationship with someone like that would be like? as i dont really know many.

On placement ( i study biology, and want to go into research),.. and so have met someone, i sort of like the guy, and think he likes me, but i dont want a relationship, when i think about this.

    So as the title asks

I understand your concerns but see how it goes with this guy, it might not last for ever anyway but why miss out on a good thing?

He will be busy a lot but I know plenty of medics who have managed to maintain relationships with nonmedics.

I'm a medic and my boyfriend is a non-medic and lives about 2 hours away. We were together before we both went off to separate unis, at first it was hard adjusting to seeing each other on weekends only but its fine. It makes us appreciate the time we do have together more.

I dated a girl who was doing medicine. It worked out fine, you both have your uni work lives, then your personal lives.

Well, OP it'd be stupid to turn down a guy only because he's a medic. You should give him a chance

Thanks that helps alot... do you think that in the future, there would be alot more time to spend together than just the weekends?

Sorry if this sounds bad, i feel quite mean for thinking like this:o:

Of course. I'm not sure how my clinical years will work out, but I hope that by then he will have a job and that we can get a place together maybe.

If you want it to work out, then it will
