    1. A steel spring has a spring constant of 25Nm-1 Calculate:
    a) the extension of the spring when the tension in it is equal to 10N
    b) The tension in the spring when it is extended by 0.5m from its unstretched length.

    I completed the first part which is 0.4m
    Can someone explain how to work out the tension?

    25 Nm^-1
    so 25 Newtons of tension for every meter you displace the spring
    25*0.5 as you are diplacing it 0.5m
    12.5 N
