Need advice on dropping a subject watch

    • Thread Starter

Hi everyone, first i think a bit of background is needed. I'm in my second year at sixth form. In the first year i completed a full maths A-level, and got an AS in Computing and Physics. Currently i have continued both physics and computing, and am doing a full further maths A-level.

The problem is that my grades are not high enough at the moment, and i am faced with 11 exams in may/june. What i want advice on is whether i should drop Further Maths? This would reduce my exams to 5 or 6 in the summer. i had 8 exams this winter(last one tomorrow) and overall they have gone very badly, which is due to the large number of exams. Honestly i don't think i'll be able to get good enough grades with all these exams.

I have 4 offers from unis, 3 are AAB and my backup is BBB. All that the ABB's ask for is maths, not further maths. But if i dropped FM and still got AAB in maths physics and computing, could they still turn me down if they had given me an offer based on the fact that i was currently studying FM?

I would really appreciate any advice anyone can offer.
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
