So i was looking into finding a cheap holiday to Jamaica, preferably Ocho Rios.
Does anyone know how to go about finding it for cheap?
Any decent holiday websites for booking?

Other help would be very much appreciated!

    Cheers

OMG Jamaica = . .I go there every couple of years to see family. We always stop off in Ocho Rios - stay in a hotel for a few nights and just chillax.

The last hotel I stayed in was the Crane Ridge Resort. No idea what the rates are like, but its not outlandish expensive. However that was just hotel (no flights included). Hmmm my advice, just try searching the internet for legitimate websites and check out the pricess and go from there.

PS: Make sure you go to Margaretiville, Dolphin Cove AND Dunns River Falls. . . .A M A Z I N G :yep:

I go to Jamaica every few years also. I guess my only advice is to book way in advance to get cheap flights and to just keep an eye open on the internet and what have you.

My dad has just gone out there and my brother found his flight on the British Airways website for £410 I think! That is CHEAP in comparison to flights we've had in the past. Tbh if you're looking for an all inclusive package it's going to be expensive. But for flight only there are some reasonable prices depending on the airline and where you look.

Mind me asking - how much are you looking at spending??? . . .Are you going on your own? . . .

I've always wanted to go to Jamaica, but my parents never took us. "We haven't got any family there anymore, if we're going to go to the beach, we might as well go to Florida and see Grandad"

I would like to spend around £600pp, but that maybe a bit unrealistic with flights etc? There will be two of us going.
I shall have a look at BA and see whats comes up!
    Thankyou!

When I went for my 21st (Feb 2007) I forked out £540 BUT that was booked during summer 2006. Prices vary depending on when you book and what season you go. Easter, summer and xmas are always expensive - so if you want to go on a reasonable price avoid those peak times.

Yes have a look on the BA website, but also check out Virgin too . . . just have a good search online and you'll come across a reasonable deal.

My family are from Mandeville, so we mostly go there. Its a town in the centre of the island. We always make sure we pay a visit to Ochy though! Its quite touristy there but they have a wonderful beach - doctors cove I think its called.

Do you mind me asking the same question?

Ahh yes I know it, my Grand Uncle lives in Mandeville. My mum and her side of fam. are from Hanover and my Dad and his side are from St Catherine. Everytime we go to JA we have to visit both sides lol (would be rude not to) and we have no choice but to go through Ochy.

Basically we go all over the country. Do as much of the tourist-y things as we can, but also make sure the fam. get to see us all. Love it though.

That's awesome. I've never been up to Hanover but would love to go over that way one day and go cliff diving in Negril! Not like I have the guts for that though. I've only been to Montego Bay, Mandeville and Ocho Rios perhaps other places when I was very young.

OP: Made an error in my first post - Doctor's Cave is in Montego Bay. Bamboo Avenue is near Ocho Rios though. If you end up driving anywhere - drive through there! I think its been restored since the hurricane and it's pretty cool.

Agh, how annoying! Convince them that it is an educational visit contributing largely to the understanding of your geneology. Denying you a beach holiday there would be like denying your past!! Ha ha, just a suggestion..

Unfortunately now that I'm 20 I'd have to pay for myself and seeing as how poor I am, it looks like I won't be going any time soon But the main thing I want to avoid is being the typical tourist and I imagine that would be quite hard to do without someone to show you around. I have got family there, but I've never met them and they haven't seen my parents for ages.

Either way, family or not, I'll get there one day.
