Chapeaumelon are French/Canadian but are awesome, they did the French songs in Eurotrip including the cover of My Generation.
Plastic Bertrand - I know he's Belgian but Ca Plane Pour Moi is French and its amazing.
The Do - They are French/Finish and are really successful in France, however they sing in English. Still highly recommended.
Arcade Fire - need I say any more, they are brilliant.

Edit. Nouvelle Vague are awesome too.

Chienne De Vie by Fatal Bazooka is really good. A lot of his stuff really grows on you. Also check out Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler by Pink Martini, anything by Numéro# and Yelle. My favourite French song is La Belle Et Le Bad Boy by Mc Solaar.

    Daft Punk?
    Mr Oizo?
    Justice?

I realise they're not strictly what you're looking for, but they are French, and also ******* brilliant.

Damien Saez has some good songs.

    I second Justice too.

Of course, this post will likely be ignored as with my last one. One day your ears shall attain enlightenment and we can be buddies.
