Hiii read this site for quite a while, just decided to join up now coz i need help haha (hope this is in the right section..)

So basically im in last year of college, and applied for the Information Technology Management for Business (ITMB) course. Got offers from Loughborough, Keele, Lancaster and Northumbria. Im hoping for BBB+ grades and with that id meet the offers for all of them, apart from lancaster which is ABB. Northumbria would be if i dont make my grades coz its a lot less than the others.

So in the league tables and surveys etc Loughborough comes out top in all of them.. I guess it doesn't mean that it's better than the other uni's tho?? It looks really good and it looks nice. Obv loboro is a very sporty uni but i have no interest in sport really hah, and i no it doesn't seem to be a problem there if you don't like it, but like im just wondering if its like a 'jock' type atmosphere there.. you know?? :\

One thing im really interested in is music. I would love there to be a great music scene, with societys and maybe start a band or something.. does anyone know which uni seems good for that out of the above and any other comments or anything??

And does anyone do the ITMB course and could tell me about it coz i think it looks good, just wonderinggg

    Thanksss

For a business related course Loughborough is by far the best of your choices. Yeah from what I've heard there is alot of sport there and no doubt to a certain extent a sporting atmosphere however it is a big uni so I dont think that will be compulsory in any way and I'm sure there are plenty of people that dont really do the sports side of things.

As for music I cant really say, L'boro is based in quite a quiet town but the uni is big so maybe there is a decent music scene, you may be better off asking in the L'boro forum.

ITMB is a course I have also applied for and everything Ive heard about it so far has been positive. It has the backing of top employers and is useful practically in the future

Well, Northumbria is the only university based in a major city (Newcastle of course). Its party reputation is legendary but it also has a great local music scene with a decent range and number of venues. I don't know anything about Northumbria's music society though.

This isn't to write off the others, particularly Loughborough (which although a market town is still close to Leicester) and Lancaster.

Im currently in my first year doing ITMB at Northumbria and i love it! The Uni is great there are loads of local venues where there is a great music scene for any music variety. Here is the northumbria website which lists all of the current societies http://mynsu.northumbria.ac.uk/stude...?view=Standard. If the one your looking isn't on the list the Students Union are always encouraging new ones to start up. Personally i love being at Northumbria doing ITMB its such a relaxed friendly course where the lecturers would do anything to help you. Its definatley worth looking at on an open day. Hope this has been useful, if you have any more questions about the course its self add me as a friend on facebook and write on my wall, http://www.facebook.com/laura.northumbria
