Here's a question that's been bugging me for ages
If a university rejected me because of my grades, could I have an 'appeal' of some sort if I achieved AAA on results day?

I don't know - you could call them up and whine when you got rejected you and try to get a place though :P

You could go through UCAS Adjustment if the course still has vacancies .... most competitive courses don't though.

I don't think there's any system in place for that sort of thing, and unless they were in clearing there wouldn't be a place for you.

Not with the swingeing cuts announced and the fines for offering places over their quotas that they now face.

I doubt it; courses that ask for AAA tend to fill their places pretty easily as far as I know.

Wow, I never knew this existed I always thought clearing was the only option, and that doesn't give you much choice at all. Thanks!

Adjustment was new last year, and it must be said that it wasn't a roaring success, at least this was my impression from observations on this forum. The number of places available were extremely limited and were snapped up very quickly indeed. Certainly bear it in mind, but do not rest your hopes on it and in the event that youdo find yourself in a position to use it, you need to act quickly.
