The idea is to be pleasant but not memorable.

Dont make them think you have a criminal record.
Dont make them think that you slit your wrists.
Dont make them think you consider paris hilton a role model.

jeans looks better than suit. . .jeans with smart shirt that is.

tbh you little applicants just look funny in your suits and stuff. i spent half an hour laughing at the lot today (ok i didnt laugh but you know it did look ridiculous especially since some of them looked uh 15 )

I had an interview at Birmingham last week for Nursing. I was more over-dressed than most, but I basically wore a pencil skirt and smart/casual blouse with a jacket. It wasn't mega smart, but compared to some people that turned up in skinny jeans I felt a bit out of place!

I'd say go jeans + v neck over t shirt - but don't worry too much about it, you should see the variety of clothes lecturers wear on my course (Biology at Brum) - goes right from blouse buttoned up to neck with sleeveless cardigan + bow tie to this Austrian guy that always wears the same massive wool hoody.. Academics aren't big on clothes lol.
