**What to wear for my Brother's wedding???*** NEed Help!

HI... Dunno if this is anormal sort of thing to ask on this sight but really i need help! My brother is getting married in september to his highschool girlfriend (they are now both 22). And I am one of the main witnesses.
I am in india and have NO access to really nice dresses unless they cost the earth! i have got myself a really nice piece of purplish raw silk that i was going to make a dress out of - but don't know what pattern to make..

Basically - of i made something traditional to my area - a tibetan dress - woudl that look too weird for soemthing like this sort of wedding. It's in a russian orthodox church (she's russian orthodox) and so we got to cover our heads too!

I'm tall as well and pretty well shaped... would soemthing which covers the shoulder but is sleevless, a cross over front with a vee neck and knee length work?

any Tips at All????

I don't know much about Russian Orthodox, but I went to a wedding on Saturday. Most girls were wearing pretty dresses from places like Debenhams (mine was from Jane Norman) with sandals and shawls. Terri, the groom's sister who didn't want to be a bridesmaid, was an usher, and she wore a smart trouser suit with a corsage and had her hair done nicely.

But this was a Roman Catholic wedding. You're probably better off asking someone in the family, or better still, why not get in touch with your brother's fiance and ask what you should wear? If you're one of the main witnesses then your outfit will matter to her, so she'll be pleased you got in touch. But do it soon. Once the wedding gets near they'll all be stressed out with all the last minute arrangements.

Christ. Stop worrying about whats fashionable and go get something that you like! A nice dress (not frilly!) or a skirt and blazery sort of combo will be fine. Oh and a hat maybe? Heels as well.
