Depends where you go I guess. I dont think there are that many "chavs" in higher education let alone at top uni's. Too busy "repping" to get straight A's.

Well if they get in to the same university you do, on what grounds can you discriminate against them, how are they any 'worse' than you?

Give me a definition of chav in your opinion (not urbandictionary's).

I had a mate who had the whole chav look going on, trackies, air max trainers, stupid gelled hair etc, yet he was the best programmer in our class, and he's now doing CS at a top uni.

Chavs and pikeys don't belong at universities.

I'm worried that University will be full of commoners and I won't be able to mix I'd rather be eathing pheasant and drinking wine, not downing vodka shots at some cheap nightclub. I wan't refinery, not chavs and tarts.
I don't mean to sound snobby or anything. I just wan't to enjoy my time at University.

I'm hoping to study Law at Sussex BTW.

I see them from time to time, but it's fairly rare.

That's pretty much the epitamy of most student life.. (not particularly mine, but most others- UoManchester at least).

Depends. Some of them tend to go to less prestigious Uni's. Stereotyping a chav, I would say places like TVU, Teesside, and other I guess.. "easy access" Uni's will have a larger amount than say... Queen Mary, Uni of London. I don't expect to see many chavers in my first choice uni for example, University of Reading. However Kingston Uni may have a few. It's just stereotyping really, assuming that most chavs will get crap qualifications and so end up at Uni's that require low amounts (less than 200 points) for example.

Looks like you're in for one whether you like it or not! Unless you just want to become a recluse of course. But University life is epitomized by clubbing, shots of cheap booze, beer, loud crappy music playing all the time, and similar things that you most likely don't like. :p:

Not many chavs though, so don't worry about that one. Just chavvy music and somewhat chavvy activities.
