To be fair, these pirates are less dangerous than Al-Shabab. This is because they have treated their hostages fed them, also any time they are caught they surrender quickly. If it was Al-shabab they really wouldn't care, they might even go as far as to not fed them at all and kill if demand is not met in 48hours. If these pirates feel threatened to much then they will surely work with Al-shabab and I can assure these guys don't think twice about killing someone.

Here is some of their work: (Contains Disturbing Images)
    Spoiler:
    Show

They have also revealed today that they are starting to work with Al-Qadea. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8491329.stm)

So, if you want a full-blown war like Afghanistan and Iraq, which will cost more than £4million, go ahead send in the troops.

That's what you think. These guys's are not dumb. I mean they’re not even likely to kill them. These guys's are "soft". Look:

But, if you provoke them, then there will be war. This is because they will somehow get your attention. They might even send a guy to Britain to blow himself up, but they will get the British authorities attention and leave them no option but to start war. This war would include most of the fighter in Somalia and Al-Qadea which is about 100,000 warlords in Somalia at the moment this is a estimate there could be as many as 500,000. Also, it might include the extreme European/ Asian Muslims such as the number of European/Asian Muslims that fought in Bosnia. They will find a way to radical these youths and then another war. Can you really operate three different wars at the same time?
Oh christ if we go around too scared to sort anyone out because they might come blow themselves up we would be speaking German.

    We are not the French.

So shall we give them the £4mil so they can buy a cruise missile they can fire at us?

There would be no ******* war your moron, get it out your head, the SAS have stormed places in numerous countries without full scale war, thats there job.

So wait. Let me get this straight you believe that the SAS are going to get out their with the hostages with no war involved in and after the operation.

I agree the part that they might take the hostages and leave the place before a war can be formed. But that's why I am specifically saying that they will provoke you guys so that you can come back and they will start an official war as the Al-shabab/Al-Qadea are always willing to start a war with the west.

It's not Al-Qaeda for a start, they are pirates. Pirates don't go to other countries and blow themselves up, there is no evidence for any of the points you say happening.

I don't know why the money hasn't been raised by other sources though.

It has... there is an organisation willing to negotiate on behalf of the government:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/8491434.stm

However, paying the ransom unfortunately sets the dangerous precedent that makes anyone flying the following flag as a potentially rewarding hostage take

The SAS/SBS manage to do 99% of their operations without causing a war. It's their job, and they're jolly good at it.

If terrorist groups decided to attack us, it won't be because we blew up a couple of pirates. You're making the mistake of believing terrorist groups work on an action/reaction basis.

Besides, Somalia can't even defend its own fish stocks just off its coast. It allowed 10 million tons of toxic waste to be dumped on its coast. They've been involved in a huge civil war for the best part of twenty years. As a nation, I don't think we need to be too wary of winding them up the wrong way.

Yes, they can't defend themselves to the extent that Britain can. But, they are now allied with Al-Qadea and these pirates if they are murdered will go to Al-shabab, which are located in the south and ally with them who are allied with Al-Qadea, which will inevitably cause a mini-war. Somalia has always been wary of foreigners coming to their countries and even helping them. If one reporter has to hire 20 militants just so he can pass the Al-shabab occupied area, how do you think they will react to a bunch of brits coming on their land. Al-Qadea is known to use suicide tactics and it has already been used in Somalia before so what makes you think that they would not retaliate against you guys when they are practically fighting you guys as we speak. Also, they have contact in western countries, in New Year this year they tried to get a Somali to kill the Danish cartoon drawer.

Ok, if you know basic maths look at this:

    Al-Shabab train pirates: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=2295946

Al- Qadea urges Somalis to attack ship:http://www.nationalterroralert.com/u...-attack-ships/

Al-Shabab and Al Qadea join forces: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8491329.stm

Why don't you think that the pirates are not going to ally with Al-shabab who are allied with Al-Qadea who don't care about money and even asked the pirates the blow up ships

Your saying if you kill the pirates they will go to war with the UK.

The US nailed them and they did nothing.

Therefore they will do the same.
