Applied for medicine this year (2010 entry) but recieved 4 rejections. im hoping to reapply next year (2011 entry) but not sure whether its the right thing to do. i think i will be able to achieve the AAB but AAA may not be as easy. i was jus wondering if i do get AAB is it worth reapplying even if i meet the minimum requirements of most med schools because a lot of ppl will be applying with AAA and also A*s.

    Yes, yes, yes.

Always worth re-applying if you have the grades, I know several people who've done it. They had a great gap year and got a nice unconditional offer

    this

    just choose your medschools wisely.
look for medschool that want people with your grades/experiance/ukcat scores.
it is not uncommon for even those with A*s to get 4 rejections.

also: DO NOT waste your gap year. if you get the grades then get some good experiance in that year that will improve your application.

Work as hard as you can and try to get AAA, it will open up a lot more choices.

Given that A* grades were only introduced a year ago, so that practically nobody will already have A*s in hand and have applied to medicine, I would have thought it would be very uncommon for people with A*s to have been rejected.
