    Hey all.
Just wondering whether theres anyone who could help me out there.
I have interviews coming up at Liverpool John Moores, Winchester and Canterbury Christ Church for primary education specialisiing in French.

Was just wondering whether anyone could give me an idea as to what they'll ask me and if theres anything I should be researching other than the every child matters thing etc...

    Many thanks in advance.

Every other country teach their children to speak English.... why shouldnt we teach ours to speak another language? Its awful that we just expect everyone to learn english like its superior or something, I think its great languages are coming back into primary schools! The younger the child, the easier they learn the language! In a class I volunteer in, the children answer the register with 'yes' in a different language every day and the children love choosing which language and have picked up 7 different ones really quickly! :-) I like this!

As part of the new primary curriculum schools must teach a modern foreign language. I think its only coming in for KS2 but I am not fully sure!! New curriculum is set for 2011

I also think its a great idea!!!!

To be honest, in your interview you do not have to have a massive bank of knowledge on the current education system. As long as you come across really passionate and enthusiastic about working with children and teaching and that its what you really want to do in life you shoudl be fine!
    good luck

Hey have you had your interviews yet? Or are they coming up soon? I have one for Canterbury next week and i really want to know what it'll be like.. as far as research i had an interview at roehampton and he just asked me so what have you seen in the news and when i mentioned the Rose report and Cambridge review he said alright talk about them, so i dont think it'll be really in depth or that they'll ask anything really specific

I had a Canterbury interview, were taken to a room for a split group task, split into 2 smaller groups. We had to do a presentation of a brain storm on 'How do children learn best' or something along those lines... afterwards both tables had a different interviewer, the actual interview was like 10 mins so you don't get long to make a good impression of yourself! I heard someone else on the other table talking about educational issues.. we weren't asked about them so its just luck of the draw!

Yeah, i had a Canterbury one too. Our group task was 'what makes a good classroom', it's all fairly straight forward and you don't have to talk alone untill you've discussed what you're all going to say with your group. There's also a written task, we watched a video of a class being taught and had to write about the teaching methods used! Good Luck!

I'm on an access at the mo, and we've been told from the beginning that 100% get on to their degree course.
2 have already failed to get into BAed at christchurch!! obvously 100% don't get 1st choice, but things are alot tougher this year.
My interviews a lot later (april) so to say i feel sick about the whole thing is an understatement.
Neither know what went wrong and why they didn't get an offer.
    AmyWoody2009 have you heard yet??

    Hey all.
Is anybody else NOT got any offers like me yet?
I was rejected from Liverpool John Moores (primary) after indiviual interivew.
However, was emailed asking if i was interested in going to an interview to do a primary and secondary education, so i have that interview to go to now in April.
I had a group interview at winchester 2 weeks ago and still not heard anything from them
Next week i have an inerview at Canterbury, and then few weeks later at Anglia Ruskin.
Im really getting stressed about it now as everybody else in my 6th form have all/ nearly all of their offers back. I still need to attend interviews! ARGH.
I know they said getting into teaching was hard this year, but im really struggling!!!
