Not looking for anyone to tell me what's on it as i know that's ultimate cheating and a no no but the title is 'Prepare a solution of a salt and carry out some chemical test on a solution prepared'
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas about what kind of tests they might be? :eek3: x

you could be asked to test for cations or anions.
Typical cations: ammonium, gp I and II ions, Al3+, Zn2+, some transition metals(easy, there would usually be colour changes, depending on what you add)

Typical anions: halides - test with silver nitrate, you get different coloured ppt.
    carbonate, sulphate, nitrate, etc

Typical test for gases: if you see bubbles forming during reaction, means gas(es) being produced, test them, either
    1) ph indicator/litmus
    2) burning/glowing splint
    3) odour
