I'm undecided between studying English & Creative Writing at MMU Crewe or English and American Literatures at Keele. I am still waiting to here from Keele, but have a conditional offer from MMU, but am still unsure of which one to study at as I enjoy both subjects!

    Help pleasee

    Keele! But I am biased!

Seriously though - are you going to be living on campus in which case look at the accommodation and atmosphere. If commuting - parking/transport provisions. Other things to look at are the library, sporting and other societies, buildings you are going to be taught in, student satisfaction etc.

If you're going to do creative writing are you prepared to have criticisms thrown at your work in-front of everyone else time and time again, no matter how you go about things.
If you don't think you can handle that, don't do it.
If you think you can handle it, fair enough.
Personally it didn't really effect my self esteem, but I never found I could get a lot from the criticisms thrown my way, so I switched courses.

I live near to both uni's so would be driving there and living at home.

I originally wanted to go to Keele to study Literature, but MMU asked for a portfolio of work and then offered me a place, so i'm not too sure, as I havent yet heard from Keele.

I'm not too sure about the criticism at MMU cause I'm naturally quiet, but am good at writing.

How did you find the course at first? I've read that you also go on placement. Is that just around Crewe or local places?

I would defiantly pick Keele, much better surroundings and atmosphere than Crewe, which is quite dodgy and dirty.
